Elevated above the street in the Tarrytown neighborhood of Austin, the towering oaks in the front give the feeling of a tree house. A major goal throughout the project was preserving those trees and nestling the home among them. Detaching the garage gave a heritage oak room to breathe, which provides ample shade to the driveway and the 2nd-story guest quarters above the garage. The terrace, located on the East side of the property, is a great escape from the hot Texas sun. The plunge pool provides relief in the summer, but can be used all year long thanks to its heated settings. Utilizing the brick fireplace, the owners enjoy their outdoor living spaces even in cold months.
